This year, Taylor's tour will have played to capacity crowds in stadiums and arenas over 98 shows in 17 countries spanning three continents, and the SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR has been extended into 2012 with shows in Australia and New Zealand. For fans who weren't able to land a coveted ticket to see Taylor's Speak Now Tour, as well as for everybody who's ready to see the show again and again, the SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR - LIVE set is the best seat in the house.

SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR - LIVE is Big Machine's first release of live music from Taylor. The DVD / Blu-ray will give fans the complete Taylor Swift Speak Now concert experience, showcasing performances of all 17 songs from Taylor's Speak Now show ("Sparks Fly," "Mine," "Story of Us," "Our Song," "Mean," Back To December," "Better Than Revenge," "Speak Now," "Fearless," "Last Kiss," "You Belong With Me," "Dear John," Enchanted," "Haunted, "Long Live," "Fifteen," and "Love Story"), plus additional bonus content. The CD will contain over 75 minutes of music, including live versions of favorites from the Speak Now album.

Taylor's SPEAK NOW performance is a theatrical presentation reminiscent of a Broadway experience. The show features elaborate costumes, dancers, aerialists, changing sets, and innovative choreography and instrumentation showcased on a multi-level stage. Taylor Swift plays five different guitars in the show, including electric, acoustic, and 12-string. She also plays two banjos, the ukulele and the piano, and changes costumes nine times over the course of the evening. She moves around the venue and uses different stages, giving every audience member a great seat.

Days after "Tha Carter IV" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a massive 964,000 copies sold, Lil Wayne continued a memorable week by leading all nominations for the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which were officially announced on Thursday morning (Sept. 8).

Weezy received a record-breaking 18 nods and will compete against Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa for the "MVP of the Year" award.
Lil Wayne will also compete in categories like Hustler of the Year, Lyricist of the Year and Track of the Year, the latter for the "Carter IV" single "6 Foot 7 Foot."

West and Khalifa follow Wayne with nine nods, while Ross scored eight nominations. The Rookie of the Year award, which essentially acts as a Best New Artist category, features an MTV VMAs rematch between Khalifa, Big Sean and Tyler, The Creator, as well as Frank Ocean, Diggy Simmons and Big K.R.I.T.

Grunge album sparks copy protection controversy

Technically, I should have given this album a one-star rating, because the single CD version is copy-protected. This means that no one can copy the music files onto their computer.
However, I think this album alone was also part of a huge revolution in the music industry, where music nuts started to move to the Internet to download music.
This is also one of the best albums that the Foo Fighters ever made. It includes some of their greatest hits, including "Best of You" and "D.O.A." If people hadn't fallen in love with the Foo Fighters before, "In Your Honor" completely changed their minds with grandiose chord progressions, edgy staccato chords and catchy lyrics.

The album is divided into two halves, reflecting the two different sides of Dave Grohl's band. The first CD includes most of the band's loud power chord songs. The second CD focuses on their subtler acoustic sound.

Both halves make for an intriguing look at how grunge music has changed from the old days of Nirvana.
Although this album sparked a load of controversy over the problems of music piracy, it also provoked many people to switch to the Internet as their source of music. For once, this was one of the only albums that people could only find in mp3 form over the Internet.

It was an intentional move that shifted the tide of the music industry. In fact, the band released an album after this one, completely devoid of copy protection.

People hated the band, but this CD actually gave them a much edgier persona in a slowly developing indie music scene.
Certainly, "In Your Honor" is hard to recommend based on the firestorm it caused about Internet piracy. However, it's worth buying as an unusual icon of the late 2000s. It's one of the few copy protected albums that you are completely unable to listen to on the iTunes application.
Don't worry--the Dual Disc version doesn't have copy protection on it.

REK Reminds Us Thoughtful Lyrics *Can* Be Set to Fun Arrangements

It seems that if you want intelligent lyrics, you have to listen to alt.country...but if you want fun, uptempo arrangements, you must resort to mainstream country. I'm quite thrilled that Ready for Confetti reminds us we don't always have to choose. The title track, "Ready for Confetti," "I Gotta Go" and "Who Do Man" are all just fun to crank up, and after just one play through the album I already was learning some of the lyrics and can easily see this being a sing-along album.
My personal favorite cut is "The Road Goes On and On," in which REK just completely tears into the kind of "countrier-than-thou-art" mainstream artist we've all come to resent. The lyrics are scathing, but the arrangement is sheer fun. Even if you don't have a vendetta against anyone in particular for whom this song would apply, I suspect many will adopt it as a vicarious sort of lashing out.
This is an album meant as much for a party with your friends as for the drive home from work. Those red lights and traffic jams will be a little more tolerable with Ready for Confetti.

I'm going on record as saying this is one of his best CD's he's done. Of course this is just my opinion, but between the 7 songs he co-wrote and his voice that just keeps getting better and better, I'd say that may be the opinion of a lot of people. "I'll Always Remember You" - There are just no words to describe this song and how it makes me feel. Mr. Strait says thank you in his own words to his fans in the most sincerest way he knows how. The speaking part feels like he is talking to each individual fan! Close your eyes and listen to him talk and he is talking to you. Simply one of the best songs on the CD.
"Blue Marlin Blues" - I think Mr. Strait shows his sense of humor in this song. It's fun.
"Here For A Good Time" - Headed for #1 and is currently #9 on the charts.
"Love's Gonna Make It Alright" - this song needs to be the next single. An upbeat song with a message.
"Shame On Me" - A mid-tempo song, definitely one of my favorites.
I could go on and on, but let me just say this: You cannot go wrong and you will definitely NOT be disappointed in buying this CD. Mr. Strait shows off his writing ability as well as the fact that his voice just gets stronger with each CD he puts out.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

I first saw the cover of the DVD in my local video rental store, and the title made me pick it up and read the back cover.

It didn't look like the sort of film I would usually want to watch, but my gut feeling said go for it.

Wow, I'm glad I did. Not only was the film excellent, but I was hooked on the soundtrack after just one viewing!!

Next day I ordered the DVD of the film, and also a copy of this audio CD soundtrack (Can't understand why here in the U.K we don't have the CD released?)

Well, a week later with Airmail shipping this CD arrived, and I have been playing it every day in the car on my way to and from work.

My fave tracks are "Black Roses Red", "Be Be Your Love", "I Want You To Know" "If God Made You", and "These Days".
If you enjoyed the film, It's worth buying this CD. It sounds awesum played on a decent HI-FI turned up loud!

Thing is, when the hype surrounding you is so huge, being "good" isn't even good enough anymore. People begin to expect greatness every single time out and that's tough to do for any artist or professional at what they do. To a kid that has made straight A's their entire life, a B is almost seen as a failure in the eyes of some. You get the point. All in all, the album is decent. Stand out tracks for me.

This album is not that great. It's not even very good. But it'll do. I, too, was expecting a looot more from her, but I'm not entirely surprised. As another reviewer noted, it seems like she only goes hard when she's featured on another artist's track and doesn't quite get there in her solo stuff, which probably results from a lack of experience.

Maybe she's just a product of poor production influence. Maybe she was a little intimidated, what with all the INSANE BUZZ surrounding her. Maybe we're just expecting too much. Whatever it is, the album is disappointing - I don't deny this.

Here it seems that Nicki Minaj took just enough chances to prove her legitimacy as a rapper, but it's unclear whether or not she's planning on continuing to lean in the pop direction or if she's going to move toward rap once her career is solidified. Either way, it seems that Nicki is sure of her bound success; it's rare that an artist emerges with such a clear image of who they are and want to be.

Lady Antebellum are getting ready to 'Own the Night' in cities all across the country! The award-winning trio have announced their Own the Night 2011 arena tour, which will kick off in November in Knoxville, Tenn. Band member Charles Kelley's brother, Josh Kelley, will serve as the opening act on all dates.

"We named our new album 'Own the Night' after one of our favorite songs, 'We Owned the Night,' off the new album, and felt it was a great description of how we wanted our fans to spend each night of tour with us," explains the group's multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood. "When people come out to our live show or hear the song on the radio it's a call to action. Be confident, live in the moment and enjoy the experiences you're going through-own them."

The multi-platinum selling group will keep a packed schedule for the first leg of their tour, performing 21 shows in a little over a month. Joining Josh as concert openers will be either Randy Montana or Eden's Edge, who will split the duties. Lady Antebellum

Not being a big Jay Z fan and a luke warm Kanye West fan at best, I wanted to hate on this album and call it over hyped, rated, etc.

But before I spoke, I gave it a listen and to my surprise I've ended up liking it to the point of running through, start to end 3 times in a row.

The album has a cohesive sound from the production and lyrics and a cohesive emotion throughout it.

Some may not like the emotion/content (maybe a little too much bragging coupled with "poor celebrity me"), which is why I can only go to 4 stars, but overall, the album holds it's own.

This isn't ground breaking stuff like OutKast but it is good for what it is...two of the more popular non-southern rappers coming together for an album.

It's also an album where listening from start to end gives the best experience and after a few rotations, skipping tracks would be appropriate.

But to get the ALBUM, you have to listen to it in order and in full. No one song is that smash single or iTunes download monster here...it's all about entirety of the project.

Toshiba EMI Black Triangle CDs List

Similar to Warner Brother's Target CDs "Black Triangles" are the 1st generation CD's released by Toshiba EMI in Japan. Also like the Target CDs the name is derived from the label design that was used on the CD.

These CDs were released from 1983 to 1987 and were in print for a limited time. They're highly sought after because they are flat transfers of the Japanese master tapes used for each title. A few of the more famous releases in this series are "Abbey Road" and "Wings Greatest" whose sources were LP masters and have no hiss reduction and are very dynamic.

This is a work in progress. I am sure I am missing some of these CDs and some do not have triangle labels. Please feel free to comment if you find any errors or know of any CDs I should include.

It kills me when people rate an album and they haven't even purchased it or they only listened to the previews. In my opinion, this album is a refreshing album. I didn't expect R&B that much because her first album didn't touch that much on R&B as I expected. I love this CD. I bought it on Sunday and have played it everyday on the way to work, at work and on the way back home. I especially love the way she displays the growth in her vocals (still needs some work but hey). My favorite song is "The Way You Love Me". That upbeat song is what I need in the morning when I'm on the highway in traffic. It takes me to another world and gets me supercharged to face my day. I tried to fast-forward it every time I play the CD but I always re-wind back to the song and keep on playing the whole CD again. I still felt as if she was holding back her full potential here and that's understandable since it's only her second one. She still has time for growth and time to write more music.

This Record Store Day only release from METALLICA features 9 tracks and was recorded live in the basement of Grimey's in Nashville, TN in June 2008, however the sound quality is quite good, not exactly soundboard quality but most diehard fans won't care anyway LOL! The great thing about this nine track live EP/Cd is the track listing that draws from the band's older library of tracks, including such classics as "For Whom The Bell Tolls," "Master Of Puppets," "Motorbreath," "Seek And Destroy" & "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" among others. The band sounds nice and loose, so the whole recording has that just for the helluva it kinda feel. In other words, this isn't "Live Sh*t Binge & Purge"! I give it 5 out of 5 stars because the set list is stellar and if you're a long time fan like me, it's a must have release. Short, sweet and an instant classic. ROCK ON, longliveneil.

This was a pretty good CD. I was a little disappointed in this album's version of Knives and Pens. They cleaned it up a lot, and it doesn't carry over the same gritty emotional feel that the pre-album recordings of the song had. Overall, if you are a BVB fan, you should get the CD. It is after all their only one so far.
I saw them live a few months ago, and they put on a pretty good show. Anyone that likes their style, shouldn't be gravely disappointed in this album.

What an excellent cd this is! Sir. Elton John and his voice and magical piano skills coupled with the classic rocker Leon Russell (who also shares vocal duties) is one of the best cd's of the year for me. I bought this because lately I've been enjoying more and more bluesy rock titles, and I've been a fan of Elton for several decades now. I was expecting this cd to be good, but after listening to it twice this morning (Day of its new release 10/19/10) I must say just how shocking it is...every song is absolutely soulful, lyrical and so well done.

If your a classic rock fan, a fan of either Elton John or Leon, or just looking for something new and different from what your used to give this cd a listen. I'd recommend going to amazon or YouTube and playing a song or two as a sample. Hopefully you'll come to the same conclusion that I have, and find that this is one of the best new release cd's of the year.

Zac Brown Band . ZBB's second commercial CD is great. Much diversity and a very polished sound. They are listed under country and bluegrass, but some of their songs can easily cross over into mainstream charts. If you are unsure about getting this CD, I hope this review will change your mind. It's top-notch! He is sure to have other commercial hits from this CD. I listen to 13/14 soungs on this CD. I am pretty picky so that should also tell you something about hos I enjoy this CD. Great job ZBB!! Keep up the great work!! This is as good as their first CD. It is the typical Zac Brown Band sound. Makes me want to go to the beach! I love it!

I know the trend is to download MP3 but this CD is worth waiting a few days to arrive. You not only get an excellent quality presentation of this great music but you also get the beautiful artwork and a booklet of lyrics in case you wish to sing along. The disk itself is a visual treat looking like a piece of candy with red and white stripes. Another bonus that you won't get from a download is the package is scented. I'm not sure exactly about the scent but it reminds me of strawberry candy. Overall, this is CD is a treat for the senses. I highly recommend it.

Give this CD a chance and it will grow on you (as their previous CD did). No, the songs don't have the heavier rock/rap sound Linkin Park's first two CDs had (which I really liked), but it's still a good CD. I admit when I first listened to it I didn't get it and I was disappointed (I hated the CD actually). But then I played it a second time through and grew to like the CD as a whole. I do have to say unlike the first two Linkin Park CDs where you can listen to a few songs at a time, in order to get the full meaning of this CD you do have to listen to it the entire way through. Listening to a few songs at a time, or just the snippets in between, you don't feel much. But you can understand what Linkin Park is trying to convey in their music and lyrics when you listen to the entire CD from track 1 - 15. I am still a fan of Linkin Park whatever direction their music takes, and the way I see it I now have the best of both worlds. If I'm having a bad day and want to vent through music, I listen to Linkin Park's older CDs. But if I want slower (mood) music to mellow me out, I listen to their newer CDs!

This album was the last one that David Lee Roth recorded with Van Halen and he definitely left on a high note. This is a very fun album, with the classic feel-good song "Jump." This song seems to have set the tone for a lot of bands in the years following. "Panama" is one of Van Halen's most beloved songs and can still be heard often on the radio. "Top Jimmy" is one of my favorite songs ever by Van Halen. It's a great country/blues number that is one of their best foot-stompers.

"Hot For Teacher" is another highlight, with it's great intro and fast, furious playing. You can tell they probably had a lot of fun doing this one, including the video for the song. Every song is cool on this one and if you've never heard this before, this is essential 80's hard rock that you should definitely check out. If you're already a Van Halen fan, make sure that this is in your collection!

Shriekback is my favorite primordial band. They just keep getting bigger and badder with the reversal of time. Each album seems deeper and weirder and more melodic than the last. Playing up on their previous strengths all the familiar artifacts in place - the super snappy baseline... the tinkering carnival-hall piano in the background... the bald man in sunglasses singing over the cagey intercom system. The bells and the bongos.

But these elements are bronze-fashioned into a new far-out version of what today's sound might sound like if you were Shriekback. Best of all Shriekback, although pre-historic, keep making even more and more albums without ever stopping yet.

"The Dreamlife Of Dogs" starts out with typical mellow-weird Shriek-it-forward beauty, getting you in the mood for a full hot bubbly Buddha-bath for sure. Light the candles. Then they try to fool you with the funky "Semi-delicious" sounding suspiciously wonderful and all coca-cola like. Which would be good enough right there but don't worry freaks they amp up the nonsense with "Loving Up the Thing" - most DEFINITELY a new Shriekback CLASSIC.

I awaited anxiously for this CD to come out, and actually ordered it through Amazon.UK so it shipped the first day it came out. I first saw the High Kings on PBS back in 2008 and was instantly blown away by their music and performance. Beautiful tradional Irish music from incredibly talented musicians - not overdone like I think the Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder are.

My son and I listened to the first DVD and CD, Live in Dublin, over and over and over and learned all the words. When Memory Lane came out, we did the same. It is just as good, and has fun, energetic songs as well as very thoughtful, sad songs. I have seen the High Kings in person 3 times, once in Boston and twice in Ireland, and have actually got to know them a little, and want to say that as well as being incredibly talented, all 4 of them are the nicest, sincerest guys. Bottom line is, this CD is WELL worth getting, and if at all possible, try to see them in person.
